Could you help this local research project? – Independent evaluation of the Care Certificate
In May last year, an 18 month national study started called ‘Evaluating the Care Certificate: A Cross-Sector Solution to Assuring Fundamental Skills in Caring’ (ECCert).
The study has two stages:
Stage 1, which is currently underway, involves a telephone survey of a large number of care organisations randomly selected from the Care Quality Commission database.
In Stage 2, which will start later this year, qualitative case studies will be carried with a small sample of organisations taking part in Stage 1 in order to gain more in depth insight into the implementation and effectiveness of the Care Certificate.
Running alongside these two stages are discussions with patient and carer groups on their views and experiences of front line care services.
