Volunteer Opportunities

At Healthwatch Nottinghamshire we have a wide range of volunteering opportunities available!

Enter and View Authorised Representative

An Enter and View Volunteer is part of our Action Team. They are the Authorised Representatives of Healthwatch Nottinghamshire and are called on to carry out an Enter and View visit when it is recommended by our Prioritisation Panel. These authorised representatives can be dispatched to premises anywhere in the county to find out first hand how the services are provided.

We are currently recruiting for more Enter and View team members to take part in our programme of visits to care homes across the County.

For more information please see the role description below, or to apply click here.

Coffee and Chat Team

Coffee and Chat volunteers are part of our Engagement Team. They deliver the Coffee and Chat sessions in a wide range of settings from care homes to singing groups. The Coffee and Chat session is an informal group activity where we ask people to tell us about their recent experiences of local health and social care services, usually over a cup of coffee and a cake.

For more information please see the role description below, or to apply click here.

Healthwatch Champion

Healthwatch Nottinghamshire Champions are members of existing groups or organisations within Nottinghamshire – anything from support groups, patient participation groups at GP surgeries, or voluntary organisations.

The role of a Champion is to report back to Healthwatch about the health and social care issues that your group might raise.  Sharing feedback with us in this way allows us to build a bigger picture of how people are experiencing services in Nottinghamshire, which in turn will help us to influence and improve these services for everyone.

We are always looking for new champions to join us!

For more information please see the role description below, or to apply click here.

Outreach Volunteer

The role of an Outreach Volunteer is to help us to spread the word about Healthwatch and encourage people to have their say about local services.

Outreach Volunteers are part of our Engagement team. They are the public face of Healthwatch Nottinghamshire at a range of events and locations across the county. They raise awareness of Healthwatch and encourage people to share their experiences of health and social care services with us.

For more information please see the role description below, or to apply click here.

Prioritisation Panel Member

The Healthwatch Nottinghamshire Prioritisation Panel are a small group of volunteers who meet once per month to discuss the latest trends and comments about local health and social care services.

The Prioritisation Panel has an integral role in deciding our future work. It was established to assist Healthwatch Nottinghamshire to decide on what actions to take regarding comments received from the public about their local services. These actions can range from asking for more information and making recommendations for changes to services, through to conducting Enter & View visits and referring issues to regulatory bodies. It is the role of the panel to recommend the appropriate action for each issue discussed.

Our Prioritisation Panel members are reviewed annually after which recruitment opens.

For more information please see the role description below, or to apply click here.

Young People’s Engagement Team

Young People’s Engagement Team members are responsible for organising activities where people can tell us their experiences of health and social care services. They plan the activity and then set it up, encouraging people to give us their experiences through surveys, one-to-one discussions and on-line feedback forms. They will also be responsible for getting those experiences back to us.
